The Gospel
The Oxford Dictionary defines the word "Gospel" as glad tidings preached by Christ. A record of Christ's life in the first four books of the New Testament. Thing one may safely believe. 1 Corinthians chapter 15 : verse 3 says "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures". Sins are the breaking of God's Law and God's Laws are set out in the 10 Commandments in the Old Testament Exodus 20 : 2-17. Jesus said "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind" and "You shall love your neighbour as yourself". Matthew 22 : 37-39. The Bible says "All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God". Romans 3 : 23. The Bible says "The wages of sin is death" Romans 6 : 23. "God is a just judge and God is angry with the wicked every day". Psalm 7 : 11. The day will come when God shall judge everyone. Just as there is a Heaven, there is also a Hell, and we all deserve to spend eternity there.

The Five Solas
For five hundred years, Protestant Christians have summed up the gospel in terms of the five “solas.” Sola is Latin for “only” or “alone.”
The five solas are:
-
Scripture alone (Sola scriptura)
-
Christ alone (Solus Christus)
-
Faith alone (Sola fide)
-
Grace alone (Sola gratia)
-
Glory to God alone (Soli Deo gloria)

The Bible and The Trinity
The Bible is God's Word, our authority in every area of life, giving direction, correction and instruction from the living God. In its original 66 writings it is without error.

The one true God exists in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the God-Man, sinless in His life, who died for our sins and rose physically from the dead. He is the focus of our worship, purpose of our praise and example of our daily walk. The Holy Spirit who helps, encourages and teaches us is God, being the source of power and godliness in our daily walk.

Salvation
Can we escape this fate? There is one truth - we cannot save ourselves - that is impossible. God can save us through His Son Jesus Christ. "The wages of sin is death" but "The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". Romans 6 : 23. From the beginning of time when Adam and Eve first sinned and throughout the Old Testament it was foretold that Christ's birth and death would happen. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to this earth 2000 years ago. Was born of a virgin, lived as a man, lived a perfect, sinless life, despite facing temptations, and was crucified unjustly. On the third day He rose from the dead, was seen by many and then ascended into Heaven to be at the right hand of God. This was God's ultimate plan from the beginning of time to save people from their sins. What must we do to be saved? Turn away from your sins. Truly repent of them and trust in the Lord Jesus' death and resurrection to save you. This requires us to come humbly to God in prayer, and seek his forgiveness. Have no doubt that God is willing to save those who come to Him in such a spirit.
